Internationalization is probably one of the most important strategic axes of the CIFP BLAS DE LEZO LHII, from now BdL, because we move in an European Education Area and we consider that education must be in line with a reality that is closely linked to an intercultural future. Thus, within our internationalization strategy is our Erasmus Project, both for High level (K1) and Middle level (K2).
In addition, in order to offer a qualified education, a continuous improvement system is implemented, through which the ISO 9001 quality system certification is obtained. This shows the interest that the BdL has in giving the students a modern education, based on reality, in the new methodologies (ETHAZI), Innovation and Competitive Intelligence projects, where Erasmus has a fundamental place and internationalization is, nowadays, an inescapable reality.
Through this type of mobility, the know-how of all kinds of professionals is spread and shared, for teaching professionals as well as professionals in the industrial field. The link between academic training and company is strengthened, which helps to empower the competitiveness of both sides. Therefore, there is no doubt that this effect multiplies as the horizon opens up to supranational scope.
The BdL, participates in Erasmus program to provide students and staff with valuable work experiences to develop their personal, professional, social and intercultural skills, in line with the strategy of our institution. This highlights the importance of training highly valued professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit and capable of moving in international fields.
The BdL is within the IKASLAN network, with which the Erasmus process is managed. The targets of our organization are our students and teachers, as important elements in the spread of knowledge, new technologies and sustainability.
Likewise, if there is a characteristic that defines the BdL, it is its humanistic character based on defending diversity and promoting equity, working for the inclusion of everyone, regardless of their origin or creed.
Furthermore, our institution believes that the participation in Erasmus + program supposes an added value to the knowledge acquired in our centre, even a plus of quality, which makes the students more attractive to carry out their studies.
The Erasmus + project is aligned with our centre strategy, within which the internalization program acquire a specific weight. By participating in Erasmus, our institution also aims to increase the levels of results to provide with professionals who can develop their professions in Europe, and thus contribute to the creation of a European Education Area.
For a long time, the strategic plan of the BdL has been considered of particular importance for students and teachers to work in the internationalization of the centre, including the Erasmus Project, given the importance to increase our knowledge and share it through the relationship with other countries, contributing to create an European space that supports the international development and collaboration.
As the School’s Annual Plan indicates, "it will be essential to work on projects that bring us closer to Europe in order to offer our students a wide vision for the future". It is a need of the school and a duty as well that we cannot put aside and for which we are working for years.
The school offers students the opportunity to participate through Erasmus scholarships, to be able to carry out their internships. That is to say, their training in a workplace in Europe for three months while they are studying the second course of their Vocational Education and Training course. This experience is of vital importance since it represents a further step in the approach to the European space and integration in it.
The BdL welcomes the above mentioned future in a European space, in which everyone's contributions will be essential for the advance in the knowledge and humanism society.
The fifth Basque Vocational Plan is clear when it speaks about internationalization: “Intelligence, sustainability, integration and solidarity are some of the fundamental elements in the development of the Plan. Reality requires training students to be able to operate with guarantees in wide professional fields and not linked only to a specific job. For this reason, it is necessary to provide students with the necessary new tools that enable them to be masters of their own future in a new Society 4.0 model”. That is the challenge indeed, to provide our students with tools that enable them to compete in an international space.
